An aspiring artist/barista seeking love finds herself caught in a romantic rivalry between a charismatic lead singer and a bisexual drummer. Got to Be Certain is a romantic drama feature currently in development, with this short film produced to showcase its heart, tone and characters.

This is a passion-driven project aimed at securing funding for a full-length feature film in 2027. While roles in this initial short film are unpaid, selected cast members will be strongly considered for paid roles in the feature. A profit share option is available, and travel expenses will be covered.
Applicants must be based in the North West of England.

ROLES AVAILABLE

Liam / Lianne – Supporting (Male or Female)
— Lead guitarist, early 20s
— One line of dialogue in the short
— Must be comfortable on camera and performing on stage in front of a live audience
— Guitar experience preferred
— No acting experience required
— Accent: Any

Filming:
— 11th–13th March, from 5.00pm onwards each day

Band Rehearsals (Chorley):
— 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th February at 6.30pm

The Liam/Lianne role will form a band (Dalane) with the lead singer and drummer already cast. Music has been selected, with scope to create a unique album as part of the feature film.

The Lad – Supporting Male
— Male, early 20s
— Friend of the drummer
— One line of dialogue and two scenes in the short
— No acting experience required
— Must be comfortable holding hands with a male actor (one small scene)
— Second scene involves an argument in a café and storming out
