CASTING CALL – ‘MUDDLE’ SHORT FILM

PRODUCTION:
10-minute short film.
Self-funded passion project with professional cast and crew.

LOOKING FOR:
Female actor, playing age 40–60, to play Mandy, the lead role.

Mandy is the beloved host of a children's television programme alongside her puppet co-star, Muddle. Warm, caring and positive on camera, she is outspoken, cynical and emotionally unstable behind the scenes.

The role requires strong dramatic acting ability, balancing comedy, vulnerability and intensity. Experience in comedy, dark comedy or character-led drama is desirable.

REQUIREMENTS:
Ideally red/light auburn hair.
Comfortable performing alongside a puppet character.
Able to perform a distinctive Northern/BBC-style Northern accent.

SHOOT DATES:
24th & 25th October 2026
9am–6pm

LOCATION:
Ormskirk, near Liverpool, UK.

COMPENSATION:
Travel and expenses only.
