CASTING CALL – ‘NAMASTE!’ NEW PLAY

Description

PRODUCTION:
NAMASTE!, a new play by Ben Everett Riley & Beatrice Hyde

SYNOPSIS:
When a young influencer is tasked with saving a once top London yoga studio, she must win over staff, teachers and clients with her wacky ideas, despite knowing nothing about yoga

SEEKING:
Gina – early 20s, working class. A young influencer who is tasked with saving a once-top yoga studio. She is free-spirited and outspoken, lacking the yoga studio ‘etiquette’ expected

Alexi – 30+ female, middle-class. Business-minded, narcissistic yoga studio owner and stern yoga teacher. Passive aggressive to the max. She preaches wellness philosophies which she doesn’t maintain in her personal life

Jan – 25+ German man. Jan has been working at the yoga for many years. Methodical, precise and may be on the autistic spectrum (undiagnosed, but suspected). He sets his mind on proving he would be the far more deserving studio manager

Direk – 25+ South East Asian man who all the teachers, staff and yogis drool over. He is the ‘it’ boy of the yoga scene. Masculine. Muscular God (comfortable being topless)

Micah – 30 something, part nordic, part God knows where yogi spirit. They are non-binary, yoga is their essence. Their vibe is whimsical and quirky with an accent you can’t quite place (think the Moira Rose of yoga land)
