CASTING CALL – ‘CASTRATO’ SHORT FILM

PROJECT DETAILS:
Castrato is a short psychological horror film set in the 1970s. The story follows a young orphan whose extraordinary singing voice brings him into the care of a celebrated choir director. What initially feels like belonging becomes a disturbing betrayal of trust

SEEKING:
An established boys’ choir with male singers aged 7–12, based in or around London, to record choral music for the film and optionally appear on screen as the conservatoire choir

RECORDING:
One song to be recorded at Shoreditch Recording Works, provisionally in late November or early December. The piece, exact date and session timings are still being finalised

OPTIONAL ON-SCREEN PARTICIPATION:
A number of choristers may appear as the film’s conservatoire choir. Filming is expected to take place in and around London across a few weekends in January, with exact dates to be confirmed. On-screen participation is optional

London and surrounding areas

COMPENSATION:
Food and transport covered. The choir will also receive copies of their studio recordings
