CASTING CALL – ‘CASTRATO’ SHORT FILM

Description

PROJECT DETAILS:
Castrato is a short psychological horror film set in the 1970s. The story follows a young orphan whose extraordinary singing voice brings him into the care of a celebrated choir director. What initially feels like belonging becomes a disturbing betrayal of trust

SEEKING:
PETER
Male, playing age 7–11
An incredibly sweet, innocent and shy boy with an almost angelic appearance and expressive eyes. Timid and withdrawn following the loss of his parents, Peter has little dialogue. Looking for a young performer who can convey vulnerability through subtle expressions and reactions. Previous acting experience and confidence taking direction would be helpful

Singing ability required

ALBERT
Male, playing age 10–11
Boisterous, cocky and outwardly confident, Albert enjoys intimidating the other boys and feels threatened when Peter becomes the favourite. Beneath his bravado is a deeply insecure child. Looking for a performer who can move from arrogance and jealousy to the frightened, vulnerable boy underneath
