Description

Casting for the graduation short film BITE, shooting in Brighton early next year.

BITE follows Billy’s attempt to navigate his father’s increasing alcoholism, volatility, and ostracism. Set in 00s Britain, the film addresses themes of family dysfunction, class, and the cyclical nature of trauma.

• Final-year student film
• Must be local to Brighton or willing to travel

ROLES:

BILLY MULLEN (14–18) – A troubled, sharp-minded teenager trying to hold things together at home. Reserved, intuitive, sees more than he should.

KEV MULLEN (35–45) – A once proud working-class man who lost his job and most of his pride. Volatile, quietly intense and unpredictable; beneath the exterior is a man scared of his own failure.

3 OLDER BOYS (18+) – No lines. Local boys who give Billy a hard time.

2 NOSY WOMEN (30s–40s) – No lines. Neighbourhood gossip, all looks and whispers.

LOCAL BUTCHER (40s–50s) – No lines. Grumpy, weathered, says it all without words.
