Description
BBC Studios Comedy is casting a new comedy short film OUR SCHOOL for the BBC.
The film is adapted from Dugsi Dayz, an award-winning British-Somali play by Sabrina Ali, and explores Somali-Muslim culture and female friendship.
Overall filming period:
2nd March – 6th March 2026
(Includes rehearsals and filming)
ROLES AVAILABLE
HANI
An outcast by choice. Intense, guarded, and slightly strange. Often labelled “weird” before anyone really knows her. Dry, sarcastic, and witty beneath the surface.
British Somali, Muslim
Any accent (London preferred)
Open to actors of East African heritage or from the Muslim community
Playing age: 17 (actors must be 18+ and able to realistically play 17)
MUNIRA
Overconfident, charismatic, and convinced she is destined for Forbes 30 Under 30. To everyone else at school, she just sells fizzy drinks.

YASMIN
A polished social-media influencer. Performatively kind, deeply self-obsessed, and quietly superior. Constantly offering unsolicited advice on wellness and life.

SALMA
