Description

For the upcoming Dutch feature film “Maalstroom”, Sien Josephine Casting and Groen Casting are looking for people with East African backgrounds to be part of a powerful and human story.

Casting Requirements

Men and women of various ages

Backgrounds from:
— Somalia
— Eritrea (Tigrinya-speaking)
— South Sudan (Dinka background)
— Fulani communities

Based in the UK or EU

Actors and non-actors welcome


Filming Details

Location: Belgium and The Netherlands

Period: Summer 2026 (exact dates TBC)

Languages: Various (including English, Tigrinya, Somali, etc.)


Looking for people with a genuine connection to these communities and lived experience. No acting experience required.
