PRODUCTION:
JOY by Christine Mackie
A short play showcase celebrating writers and stories with a Lancaster focus.

SEEKING:
MAYA
Female | 30s | Global majority A midwife buying a flat with money left by her beloved grandmother. It's a bittersweet day for her.

SEAN CORNEY
Male | Playing age 30-40 | Any ethnicity Maya's neighbour. Comes across as a bit of an idiot but has a big heart.

JOY
Female | Playing age 86
A friendly ghost. Northern, sharp, educated and lonely despite enjoying the small powers that come with being a ghost.

LOCATION:
The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster

REHEARSALS:
Play will rehearse for a maximum of 3 full days, organised around cast availability.

PERFORMANCE DATES:
17th, 18th & 19th September

NOTE:
Production is particularly interested in hearing from actors based in and around Lancaster, as all rehearsals, castings and performances will take place there.
