Dialogue-led short film following two friends sharing a celebratory smoke after one of them receives a promotion.

ROLE 1
MATT

Mid-20s to early 30s

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
Dry and sarcastic. A working-class man who has worked his way up in his job. Although excited about his future, he is conflicted about what he may have to leave behind.

ROLE 2 –
SHANE
Male
Mid-20s to early 30s

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
Warm and quick-witted. A supportive friend who understands that every step Matt takes forward threatens to leave him behind.

CASTING NOTES:
- Looking for actors interested in naturalistic performances.
- Must be comfortable allowing moments to breathe.
- Strong chemistry between the two roles is essential.
- Applications from actor pairs are highly encouraged.
- No prior acting experience is necessary.
- First-time actors are welcome to apply.
