CASTING CALL – ‘THE SPINE’ PLAY

Description

ABOUT
An explosive play about goals, brotherhood and the football academy system. The production will tour studio theatres, community spaces and schools, specifically for young people aged 13–25.

LOOKING FOR:
3 male actors aged 18

HAKEEM
Black
Athletic build, from London. Intelligent and thoughtful, often spends a lot of time in his head. He is committed to his goals and sees himself very much as a leader.

KYLE
Black or Mixed Race
Athletic build, from London. Energetic, funny and witty. His focus is largely on football and he does not want to be distracted from his goals.

LIAM
White
Athletic build, from Liverpool. An Academy player who is hopeful and positive. He comes from a football family and straddles the worlds of his working-class white family and his Black friendship group.

REQUIREMENTS:
All three actors must have physical theatre experience. Football knowledge and experience playing football is a bonus, as the production includes football references and playing.

4–29 January 2027, Liverpool

TOUR:
1 February–13 March 2027, North West

HOLIDAY WEEK:
15–21 February 2027

CONTRACT & FEE:
ITC/Equity Contract – £630.90 per week. Travel and accommodation expenses covered.
