Description

A young socialite hosts a dinner party for her elite friends, which escalates into a drunken bacchanal where they ultimately sacrifice the butler.

CHARACTERS
CELIA – FEMALE, EARLY 20s
A highly educated, affluent young socialite. Celia is a feminist who disdains the patriarchy and the constraints placed on women, yet remains surrounded by wealth, feasts, servants and privilege. She is a classicist with a first-class degree from Oxford University and is particularly interested in Greek mythology. She suppresses her romantic feelings towards Alex because she considers him socially beneath her.

ALEX – MALE, EARLY 20s
A butler who has worked for Celia’s family for several years. He is hardworking, discreet and accustomed to navigating wealthy people's wishes and requests. Calm and restrained, he holds his tongue and rarely complains, even when he should. He has romantic feelings for Celia but is aware of the social divide between them.

PANDORA – FEMALE, EARLY 20s
The most confident and cruelest of the group of women, with a sharp tongue and scathing demeanour. Cold and judgemental, she condemns anyone who shows humanity and looks down on those she considers beneath her.

COCO – FEMALE, EARLY 20s
Confident and provocative, Coco loves flirting and treats everything like entertainment. She is very bold and likes to test boundaries, including those of her friends. She wants to be desirable and can become jealous if she is not the centre of attention.

DIANA – FEMALE, EARLY 20s
The most sentimental and emotional member of the group, often mocked for being “too soppy”. She is nostalgic, overthinks situations and values her friendships, but also enjoys alcohol and smoking.
