CASTING CALL – HAYMARKET’ SHORT FILM

Description

SYNOPSIS
Knocked out of an impulsive, blissful and drug-fuelled trance, a young woman realises the impact of her decisions and spirals out of her own making

In an effort to rectify her mistake, she finds herself under mounting pressure with seemingly never-ending interpersonal consequences: an aggrieved friend, a livid flatmate and a stranger caught up in the maelstrom

ROLES
ROLE 1 – YOUNG WOMAN (20s)
A temperamental and skittish young woman. Her all-consuming fickleness dominates every conversation. She is difficult to follow: audaciously in a huff if confronted with her own missteps yet will desperately plead in the same breath

ROLE 2 – FRIEND (20s)
A sternly protective and overly accommodating friend. She possesses an unwavering strong sense of responsibility towards her community. Despite being brilliantly resilient in her own right, she’s incisively empathetic and will neglect her firm boundaries should a friend need her

ROLE 3 – UNSETTLED MAN (20s)
An unsettled man with difficult circumstances that manifest in verbal aggression and poor decision-making. Although known to be generous at his core, his problematic short fuse is all we witness

ROLE 4 – FUNNY MAN
An effortlessly funny man in his mannerisms. Caught off guard at an unusual hour and dragged into a world he is unfamiliar with

ROLE 5 – STRANGER
A stranger with maternal attentiveness and consideration for others
