Kai grew up with five siblings who were all too old to spend time with him, and a mum whose only way of coping was with a bottle. A sporty lad in school, he was encouraged to join the army, so he served for almost eight years before being discharged with injury. Since then, he’s struggled adapting back to civilian life. Like his mum, he’s found comfort in a cool can, and he relies on music as a crutch, struggling to function without the constant blast of metal and drums. Unclear of the road ahead, he lives each day the same as the day before, trapped in a numbing cycle that is only days away from spiralling out of control.
