Seeking skilled actor musicians with immersive experience for a jazz infused staging of Navarre, an adaptation of Love’s Labour’s Lost at The Cockpit Theatre for Camden Fringe.

This is a profit share production.

PRINCESS OF AQUITAINE – Any ethnicity, female, 25-30s. Strong, confident, and not much time for men other than when she needs to get some – and always on her terms. She has a sharp exterior and is quick with her words. Her father is dying, and though she’s sad that he will be gone soon, she’s been ready to take over Aquitaine (the rival jazz club to Navarre) for a few years now – she knows exactly how she wants to run the place. Strong jazz singer with ability to harmonise. Instrumentalists welcome.

ROSALINE – Any ethnicity, female, 20s. Sharp, quick and piercing. Rosaline has broken many hearts. Her words can freeze. Strong vocalist and instrumentalist.

KATHERINE – Any ethnicity, female, East london/Essex, 20s-30. Down to earth and sure of herself, while Katherine might not be the brains, she has a quick temper and a fiery attitude. She’s loyal to the bone. Rough around the edges. Vocalist and instrumentalist.

FERDINAND – Global majority, male, 30-40. The King of NAVARRE. Well respected, well educated, and the smoothest vocals you have ever heard. A deep voice, an old-school crooner with buckets of charm.

BEROWNE – Any ethnicity, male, 25-30s. The quick thinker, the charmer. Goes through several women a night. He enjoys the finer things in life, and loves a chance to prove that he is the smartest in the room. Soft and charming singing voice in the realm of Chet Baker.

DUMAIN – Any ethnicity, male, 25-30s. Larger than life, a booming voice and a loveable teddy bear. He doesn’t think too hard, and hasn’t ever had to work too hard either – he comes from family money and is used to high society. His emotions transform as quick as a childs.

LONGAVILLE – Any ethnicity, male, 25-30s. The cheeky chap of the group. Definitely not the brains, he makes up for it with the energy he brings – if there’s a party, you can count on him to bring the wild side. The youngest, he’s got Labrador puppy energy.

The show will take place 22nd-25th August at The Cokpit Theatre, London.
