CHARACTERS:
JOHN
The old man through whom the story is told. While having lived a rather unextraordinary life, in the traditional sense of the word, he has lived a full life. Which we experience as it comes to an end in his old leather armchair.
JUSTINE
Johns only child, who is shown through key moments of her life that have directly impacted him. A strong woman who along with her son Theo is all John has in the later stages of his life and is there when he meets his end.
AMELIE
Johns wife, mother of his daughter and the person who has the biggest impact on his life. A gleeful woman who’s arrival and death both mark turning points in Johns life.
THEO
Johns 7 year old grandson who’s Sunday visits are the highlight of both their weeks. They play games like battleship and jenga, watch old westerns and listen to John recall stories from his life.
