CHARACTERS
PAIGE, (playing age 20) is still living with her mother, and is obsessed with writing journals, taking photographs, and collecting memorabilia, driven by a fear of forgetting caused by her mother’s strict secrecy about the past. ELEANOR, (playing age early 40s) is infatuated with her perfect idea of motherhood and is highly protective towards her only child Paige, and is keeping a dark secret from her. As Paige starts asking questions, Eleanor’s love for her daughter drives her to more desperate and irrational measures to protect her from the burden of memory.
VICTOR, (playing age late 40s). One might say life has not been kind to him, but neither has he. With the bottle being his closest friend, he still grieves the fire that consumed his house and took his wife and baby daughter. After the tragedy, Victor ran away to hide from the truth. Deep down he thinks he could have saved then, but to forgive himself he must first accept the cold hard truth.
SUSAN, (playing age 25-50), is a librarian who has no joy or patience left in her. She hates people almost as much as she hates doing work. She is particularly impatient with Paige who keeps digging around in the archives, giving her extra work when she would much rather sit and read.
