CAL, M (35-45) 12-years as a successful YouTuber, Cal made a name for himself making travel vlogs; visiting little-known parts of the world and celebrating the things people have in common no matter where they live. Cal typically sees the best in people, but recently, he’s grown frustrated by the darker side of society; specifically people’s obsession with social media & fame. NOTE: This role has been cast
AVA, F (28-40) Cal’s girlfriend, Ava is critical to the story. Bright and mischievous, she gives the audience a critical insight into Cal’s personality. Via her facial expressions, we see that perhaps this isn’t the first time Cal has responded like this.
FAN, M (20-30) If this guy took an EQ test, he’d fail miserably. His capacity for reading body language and emotions is woeful. He has an unflinching belief that his needs are of paramount importance. Never in his life has it occurred to him that some people need, value and deserve space.
FAN’S GIRLFRIEND (20-30) Better at reading body language than her boyfriend, she absolutely feels the tension during this encounter. For the entirety of the conversation, she’s visibly a reluctant girlfriend. Although a non-speaking part, this role needs an expressive actress with a brilliant understanding of unspoken subtlety and timing.
WAITRESS, F (ANY AGE) The final piece of our small but beautifully- formed cast, we’re looking for someone who can bring a natural warmth to the story… someone who wants to play, experiment and contribute glorious ideas to the production.
