ARTHUR (40s) A lonely, love-sick pub dweller, who sits, listens to other people’s stories, so rarely telling his own. Our protagonist.
GRACE (20-40s) Her age is ambiguous. She appears to have greying hair in some frames, then not. She is presented as both how Arthur views her and how she really looks, fluctuating between glowing youth and slightly withered middle aged.
TOM (40s) Arthur’s closest friend. A stocky Cornish labourer.
