Location: Chorley, UK and surrounding areas
    Project Type: Low-budget short film

Commitment: Unpaid (with potential for paid roles in future feature film)
    Production Dates: 11th–13th March 2026
    Read-through: 21st February 2026, 3pm – Leyland Golf Club

    About the Project
Got to Be Certain follows an aspiring artist and barista searching for love, who finds herself caught in a romantic rivalry between a charismatic lead singer and a drummer. The short film is being produced to showcase the heart, tone, and characters of a feature film currently in development.

This is a passion-driven project aimed at securing funding for a full-length feature film in 2027. While roles in this short are unpaid, selected cast members will be strongly considered for paid roles in the feature. Travel expenses will be covered. Applicants should ideally be based in the North West of England.

    Role Available

    Josh – Lead Male
    – Gender: Male
    – Age: Mid-20s
    – Ethnicity: Open
    – Accent: Northern

    Character Description:
Josh is the band’s drummer. Warm, grounded, and quietly observant, he acts as the emotional anchor of the group. Often overlooked, his presence brings calm and clarity when tensions rise. His humour is dry and well-timed, and his loyalty runs deep, even when caught between friends. Josh does not seek the spotlight, but when he speaks, it matters.

Drumming experience is a bonus but not required. There is potential to form a real band, work with an existing band, and co-write original songs.

    What to Expect
    – Scenes range from intimate conversations to ensemble party moments
    – Footage will be used for the short film, pitching the feature film, festival submissions, and personal showreels
