Key scenes take place in a richly decorated office, opposite the lead character, during a tense exchange that drives the story's climax.

    Casting for Ed Morris, the lead role in The Stuntman — a 3-minute period drama made as part of a final year at UWE Bristol.

    The film will be shot in Bristol on 11th & 12th November 2025. This is a student production (unpaid, with travel expenses covered) and will be shown at our university showcase and submitted to film festivals.

    Story: Set in 1920s Wiltshire, The Stuntman follows Ed Morris, a small-town silent cinema owner fighting to keep his theatre alive as the arrival of sound threatens to change film forever. Determined to save his livelihood, he stages one final ambitious stunt — a warm yet bittersweet story about passion, creativity, and the struggle against inevitable change.

    Role: Ed Morris (Lead, 28) Charming, intelligent, and hardworking. Outwardly confident, but quietly desperate as he clings to his dream of preserving silent cinema. Must have strong screen presence and emotional depth.

    Quiet and focused, the wizard practises his yoga, always at the ready to send strangers dancing away into the horizon.
