Elle: 23 year old female living alone. She is an online designer. She suffers from androphobia as a result of having been sexually abused as a child. Her personality is sensitive, fear, escape, timid.
Jane: A social worker aged around 25 who runs a female support group. Lives with her mother and has a violent father. Used to suffer from androphobia but has recovered. Her personality is outgoing, brave, helpful. caring, empathetic, enthusiastic, talkative.
Kate: Jane’s mother. A woman in her 50’s who has been subjected to Jane’s father abuse for many years. Her personality is helpful, gentle.
Jane’s father: A man in his 50’s. He abuses Kate and puts Jane in a dangerous position. His personality is irritable, violent.
A strong man: A man aged around 20-30 years old. His credit card has been picked up by Elle and then thanks Elle.
The cashier: A man aged around 20-40 years old. He works in a small shop where Elle usually goes to.
A young man: A man aged around 20-25 years old. He harasses Elle at the bus stop.
A young girl: A girl aged around 18 years old. She runs to Elle in fear and panic at the end of the story. This character symbolises the start of Elle’s new life
