Shooting a short film entitled “NEW ROTA” on this coming Friday (7th April) for 6 hours at 369 Film Studios in Leicester (7 Woodboy St, Leicester LE1 3NJ).
Roles:
SHAYE Post-Office Employee Tepid, anxious workaholic with a compulsion to follow the rules. Accidentally places his friendship with Nina at risk, breaks his own morals to keep it and pays the price. Tries to do the right thing, fails to consider the thoughts of others. Struggles to show that he cares.
NINA Post-Office Employee Level headed. Keeps to herself out of a fear of being disliked. Accommodating of Shaye in spite of his quirks. Building a friendship with him, but needs her job and doesn’t want to put it at risk. Places logic before emotion. Dealing with a draining family life outside of work, treats work like her safe haven away from the chaos.
FERN New Manager A new manager looking to make her mark, unafraid of ruffling a few feathers to get the job done. Wants to prove herself and show results, transfers Shaye onto her team based on his stellar track record and her need for perfection. Struggles with Shaye when she hands him a new rota, forcing her to make a tough decision.
MS. BAKER Customer Charming lady making a dodgy return, blagging her way through the transaction with an unwavering smile. Suppresses her panic out of desperation. Prepared for a fight, defensive and armed with answers to all questions.
