CASTING FOR 3 ACTORS – EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE AUGUST 2023

Panmure House in Edinburgh is casting for a production of a new play about the dear friendship of Adam Smith & David Hume. “Enquiry Concerning Hereafter” is written by Duane Kelly and will be directed by Andy Corelli.

David Hume and Adam Smith, based in Edinburgh, were giants of the Enlightenment. They were also the dearest of friends who stimulated, challenged, loved, pushed, and supported each other as they forged their profound ideas that still very much shape our world today. Enquiry Concerning Hereafter is the story of Smith and Hume’s final days. They grieve because old age and disease are separating them, perhaps for eternity. Charon arrives to ferry them across the river Styx. The play will be performed in the very residence where Smith spent his later years, and where he died.

The play takes place in 1776 and 1790.

For Adam Smith & David Hume, we are looking to cast 2 male actors who have a playing age of 50-70.

For Charon we are looking to cast an actor, male or female. An ethnic background would be preferred but not essential. Age 40-70
