OPEN AUDITIONS – DUSK
Open Auditions

Dusk: A Bite-Size Love Story

An original Twilight Parody Musical

Character Descriptions

R COLLINS – Co-narrator. 8/9 years-old. Bia and Edwin’s half-human, half-vampire daughter. Stubborn, sassy, and oh so curious. She provides the healthy level of criticism this plot deserves.

BIA COLLINS – Co-narrator. Immortal 18 year-old version of Bia Stork. Reluctant first-time mom and story-teller. Vampire.

BIA STORK Soprano, Mezzo-soprano (G3-Eb5)
17. Protagonist and uncomfortable new kid. Extremely socially-awkward; a bit clumsy. She’s “not like other girls,” which seems to make her more desirable. Human.

EDWIN Tenor (C3-G4)
Eternally 17; eternally stressed out. Very broody and conflicted. He struggles with a personal sense of morality and existentialism. Bia’s love interest. Vampire.

CHUCK STORK/DR. DAD Tenor (C#3-A4)
Late 40s. Bia’s dad. He loves baseball, fishing, and…Dr. Dad? He’s new to the whole parenting thing; evidenced by his palpably awkward (yet endearing) relationship with Bia. Human.

Immortal 20-something. Collins family patriarch. Supportive father and loving husband. The town’s lead surgeon. He has amazing patience and self-control, and a special soft spot for Edwin. Vampire.

MOM Mezzo-soprano/Soprano (A3-C#5)
Immortal 20-something. Collins family matriarch. Doting wife and mother. Extremely nurturing and gentle. ‘50s housewife ideal. Vampire.

ROSLYN Mezzo-soprano, Alto (A3-C5)
Immortal teen. Edwin’s intended-match-turned-older-sister. Unwilling immortal and Collins’ family member. She’s bitter, but she has good reason; imagine being an eldest daughter for all eternity. She is not a fan of Bia. Or Edwin, really, for that matter. Vampire.

AURA Soprano, Mezzo-soprano (B3-D5)
Immortal teen. Edwin’s bubbly, bossy, and omniscient younger sister. She is a psychic supporter of all things Bia and Edwin. Vampire.

EGGLET Baritone (B2-E4)
Immortal teen. Edwin’s bro-y big brother. The ultimate himbo king. He lives for gains and a good time. Vampire.

JULIUS
Immortal teen. Edwin’s silent brother and, oftentimes, the elephant in the room. He has a sordid past full of battle scars and questionable moral decisions. Best known for making Bia uncomfortable and being crazed. Vampire.

JENNY Mezzo-soprano (G3-C5)
“So hot! And perky” (vapid.) Bia’s first new high school friend (frenemy). She’s “not like other girls” and makes the perfect prom queen. Human.

ANNA – Jenny’s voice of reason. Bia’s genuine and caring high school friend. Human.

ENSEMBLE- High school students/dancers and “inanimate” objects. A few featured ensemble roles available (i.e. Deer, Bia Ballet Double, Biology Students, Jason, Unaddressed Antagonist).
