Casting One Last Dance, a student short film.

Rehearses and shoots between Apr. 17-21 in the Bournemouth area, Dorset. Note: Specific locations TBC.

Roles:

John – (55-100):
Grieving the loss of his beloved wife, Delilah, as he writes her a letter asking for just ‘one last dance’. He is struggling to accept that his wife is no longer with him, and was unable to say goodbye before she left, so writing this letter is his way of saying he loves her one last time. When he sees her, standing there at the foot of his bed, beautiful as ever, he is overfilled by this renewed sense of love and passion. Production is looking to cast someone who can hold a frame through their emotions. This character will be a part of an elaborate waltz scene, so the actor cast must be comfortable dancing with the actress portraying Delilah. Rehearsals will take place in the weeks leading up to the mentioned shoot dates.

Delilah – (55-100):
Revisiting John after he places his letter to her in the pocket of her dress, hanging up on the wardrobe, untouched since her passing. She has missed him so much and is so thankful to know that he misses her too. It breaks her heart that they can no longer be together, so this final dance together is her way of telling him that she’ll always be with him, even if it can’t be in person. Production is searching for an actress who can embody the maternal character type that immediately makes the audience feel warm. Delilah is kind, and the love and care she feels towards John can be seen from a mile away, through just one look. This character will be a part of an elaborate waltz scene, so the actress cast must be comfortable dancing with the actor portraying John.
